     Classroom Descriptions    
 

Touching Hearts serves children ages 18 mo-12.  Touching Hearts follows Faith Lutheran’s School calendar and generally transition children to new rooms at the beginning of a new school year.  Daycare is available year round.  We have separate classrooms for children ages 18 months, 2, 3, 4, and pre-kindergarten.  All classrooms follow a daily schedule.  Full and part time schedules are available.  Below you will find a summary of each classroom.


Jungle Room (Miss Ariel Buhr)- 

 

Yellow Room (Miss Kindra Brooke)


 -This classroom is for 2 year old children.  In this room, we finish all potty training.  The children wear Velcro sided pull-ups for easy bathroom practice.  This classroom introduces circle time to learn about Jesus, stories, and beginning learning skills.  The children attend music class and participate in rhyme and songs each day.  The children grow in their independence and in their development of friendships.  Children in the yellow room explore and create with various art materials.

 

 

 

 

Red Room(Mrs. Brie Meyer)

-This classroom is for children who are older 2’s and younger 3’s.  In this room, we finish all potty training.  These preschool children begin to focus on readiness themes like the alphabet, math and science.  Red Room children attend music and PE class.  The children continue to grow in their faith development through stories, songs and chapel.  Creativity through art is also developed.  Large motor skills are strengthened in both the outdoor and indoor playground.  Combining play and learning makes the day fun filled.

 

 

 

 

Green Room(Mr. Craig Nannen)

Green room children are 3 when the school year begins.  They have completed potty training.  These preschool children begin to focus on readiness themes like the alphabet, math and science.  Green Room children attend music and PE class.  The children continue to grow in their faith development through stories, songs and chapel.  Creativity through art is also developed.  Large motor skills are strengthened in both the outdoor and indoor playground.  Combining play and learning makes the day fun filled.

 

 

 

 

Blue Room Morning(Mrs. Sarah Wheeler)

-The children who attend the Blue room are older 3’s and younger 4’s.  All the children in this room have completed potty training.  The alphabet, math, and science are the focus of this classroom.  Blue Room children attend music and PE class.  Faith development is strengthened through stories, songs, and chapel.  Large motor skills continue to grow and develop in the indoor and outdoor playground.  Readiness for kindergarten is enhanced in this classroom while making friends.

 

 

 

 

Blue Room Afternoon(Mrs. Sarah Wheeler)

-This classroom is a multiage classroom serving children age 3 through 5.  All the children in this room have completed potty training.  The alphabet, math, and science are the focus of this classroom.  Blue Room children attend music and PE class.  Faith development is strengthened through stories, and songs.  Large motor skills continue to grow and develop in the indoor and outdoor playground.

 

 

 

 

Pink Room(Mrs. Mindy Ohnoutka)

The Pink Classroom is for 4 year old children who will be turning 5 during the current school year.  The alphabet, math, and science are the focus of this classroom.  Pink Room children attend music and PE class.  Faith development is strengthened through stories, songs, and chapel.  Large motor skills continue to grow and develop in the indoor and outdoor playground.  Readiness for kindergarten is enhanced in this classroom while making friends.

 

 

 

 

Orange(Mrs. Patti Abbott) and Purple Room (Mrs. Linda Wittmann)

-These two classrooms are for prekindergarten children.  The orange and purple rooms are all day pre-kindergarten classrooms.  The children attend from 8:30 to 3:15pm Monday through Friday.  These classrooms follow a school year calendar.  Daycare is available on non-school days at the regular daycare rate.  The children in these classrooms are attending kindergarten the following fall.  The orange and purple room children may be 4 or 5 when beginning the school year.  Readiness skills for kindergarten are explored in this classroom.  Math, science, and language arts are strengthened in these rooms.  Spanish, computer, PE, chapel and music are all part of their schedule.  Large motor skills are developed in the indoor and outdoor playgrounds.  Faith development is taught through songs and stories.
