Previously, he had served for 18 years as teacher and principal at parishes in Illinois, Kansas, and Wyoming. In addition to his ministry at Faith Lutheran, he has been a member of several Synodical commissions and boards, including service as a Regent for Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne (1989 -1995) and Concordia University in Seward (1996 - present.)
Also serving as a Genesis consultant for the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.
Serving as National Lutheran School Accreditation Nebraska District Commisioner.
