We trip on temptation and lug along burdened souls as we follow our Lord down the winding pathways of our messy lives. Like Jacob after his wrestling match with God, we limp. And that’s okay. Jacob’s story and ours is the story of the God who doesn’t select the sainted or pick the pious but calls deceivers and runaways and every variety of sinner to be his beloved disciples.
