Hot Lunch Program

Faith Lutheran School

The goal of Faith's hot lunch program is to provide students, staff and guests with healthy meals that encourage growth, learning and good nutrition.

Every school meal meets USDA nutritional standards and includes five great choices: milk, vegetables, fruit, grains (with an emphasis on whole grains) and meat or meat alternative. Our meal plan uses non-fat and low-fat dairy choices, and we aim for low saturated and trans fats and limited added sugars.

Faith Lutheran School has been awarded the Healthier U.S. School Bronze Award! To receive the award, Faith worked hard to modify the school nutrition environment in order to:

  1. Improve the quality of foods served.
  2. Provide students with nutrition education.
  3. Provide students with physical education and opportunities for physical activity.

Our school has also modified school lunches to include more whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Faith received a banner, an award plaque and $500 from the USDA Food and Nutrition Service.

Important to know

  • Food Allergies: Every attempt is made to provide accurate information on ingredients which may cause allergic reactions. If you have questions or concerns contact the school office.
  • All grains served at Faith Lutheran School are whole grain rich.
  • All meals are served with milk and water.
